The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established and growing organisation within the manufacturing and food production sector, seeking to appoint a driven and detail-oriented Management Accountant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced operational environment where finance plays a key role in driving performance, supporting production, and influencing commercial decision-making.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of financial reporting, analysis, and performance insight across the business. You will play a critical role in understanding financial performance, identifying variances, and supporting operational teams with meaningful data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and analysing P&L and balance sheet reports
- Delivering accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting
- Producing variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and standard costs
- Supporting and developing cost models, including labour and material variances
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Supporting forecasting and short-term financial planning
- Assisting with audit preparation and financial compliance requirements
- Reviewing and supporting transactional finance processes (e.g. bank recs, purchase ledger)
- Producing ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making
About You
You will be a proactive and analytical finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams in a dynamic environment.
You are likely to have:
- AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) or be working towards a professional qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment (highly desirable)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- A solid understanding of finance processes and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
